PBS executive editor and debate moderator Jim Lehrer has taken a lot of criticism for his performance during last week’s first presidential debate. The consensus was that Lehrer allowed the candidates to talk too much, didn’t cut them off when time limits expired and that he didn’t make the debaters follow the rules.

But what if Lehrer had been more decisive, more strong-willed — more of a badass?
