This Woman Wore a Bikini For the First Time and OWNED It, Inspiring Women Everywhere
Most people have at least a few insecurities about their bodies, and summer swimsuit season is a great time for all those intruding thoughts to fill up your brain like grains of sand you’ll never completely get out of your car.
That’s why a video posted by a woman namedJazzmyne Robbins for BuzzFeed is striking a chord with so many people out there.
She had never worn a bikini before and decided to finally face her body image struggles head-on and in front ofthe whole rest of the world.
She explained that growing up in a small town without a lot of girls who looked like her impacted the confidence she had in herself.
While she would praise other plus-sized women for wearing a bathing suit, she told herself that she was different, that she didn’t have a “beach body.”
As we know, that’s crap, as size does not equate to value.
So she went to the store and bought not only a bikini, but a string bikini, one that she sported like a boss on the day of the beach.
She added that more than just finding a suit, she was hoping to find self-love without giving a damn about what a hater had to say or those self-conscious voices in her head.
She was nervous for the reveal, but once she got out in the sand, her confidence rose.
“It’s really nice being here around people who are so nice and supportive,” she said.
She even shared a picture with her more than 26,000 Instagram followers to an overwhelmingly positive response.
So what was the takeaway after the beach?
That she can rock any swimsuit she wants anyone can and that every body is a beach body.
