State TV captured the moment when two car bombs went off near the headquarters of Syrian state television in Damascus after nightfall on Sunday. Sana, the Syrian state news agency, said suicide bombers carried out the attack, and made no mention of fatalities.

Mortars also reportedly landed near the Damascus hotel where U.N. chemical inspectors and other U.N. staff have been staying.

Meanwhile, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was busy joking on Monday that the Nobel Peace Prize “should have been mine.”
