A young Steve Jobs (1955 – 2011) marvels at humankind’s ability to build tools as a way of amplifying our natural capabilities. Recounting a story he read as a child about the efficiency of locomotion amongst various species on Earth, a human on a bicycle ‘blew away the competition’.

For Jobs, the computer is the ‘bicycle of the mind’.
