There are a few things in this world that I firmly believe are universally enjoyable and, in my honest opinion, people who don’t find farts funny are not to be trusted for any reason.

Human beings have been trying to figure out exactly why unexpected bursts of air are so amusing since Plato first examined the topic in “The Republic.” While there doesn’t seem to be a common consensus, all reasonable people can agree farts are absolutely hysterical.

This is especially true in the context of live television, a medium in which sudden bouts of farting are normally frowned upon.

However, on a recent episode of “Good Morning Britain,” Richard Arnold suddenly let one slip and subsequently tried to blame it on the couch.
