This 5-year-old’s teacher sent home a list of this week’s sight words for him to practice with his parents. I think it’s safe to say, it’s time for this little genius to move on to the next reading level…

    The (somewhat) amazing part is hearing him read the fine print including words like “together” and “directional.” Great start, young man!

    My daughter could read when she just turned 4…and she had great emphasis and could even sound out words she didnt know..I have it on video..

    Problem is that he’s in danger of being bored… so he won’t want to pay attention… so he’ll have to be assessed for Attention Deficit Disorder. One thing we all know: it will never be the fault of the teacher or the school system. Not according to the teachers of the school system, anyway. 🙁

    Poor kid. There’s no place for him in a school system that sent home those sight words and either didn’t realise or didn’t care that he could read it all.
