Jay Z’s World Cup Rap Will Get You Hyped for Every Match

Just in time for the first U.S. World Cup match against Ghana on Monday, Beats by Dre unleashed a new ad featuring a World Cup-themed verse from Jay Z.

The “Holy Grail” rapper’s lyrics — remixed into Jamie N Commons and X Ambassadors’ “Jungle” song that accompanied the original Beats by Dre World Cup commercial — are dubbed over footage of fans and athletes, who are wearing Solo² headphones.

This “Jungle” remix debuted during Sunday’s NBA Finals and the full song is available on Beats Music, the streaming service Apple acquired with Beats Electronics for $3 billion.

“There’s records to break, medals to take, flags to wave,” Jay Z raps, as players Neymar, Jr. (Brazil), Luis Suárez (Uruguay) and Javier Hernández Balcázar (Mexico) act out their pre-game rituals. The ad is part of Beats by Dre’s “The Game Before The Game” campaign.

Beats executive Dr. Dre, who hadn’t tweeted since posting “Here’s to the next episode” on May 28 in reference to the Apple acquisition, posted this tweet about Jay Z on Sunday.
