Playing For Change started in 2002 as a way to inspire and connect the world through music.
Founders Mark Johnson and Whitney Kroenke started recording local street artists, and then came up with the idea to layer tracks over one another as a way to connect all kinds of artist from differing locations around the country. What came of this project was an amazing, award-winning documentary called “A Cinematic Discovery of Street Musicians.”
This amazing rendition of Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” comes from a series of videos that Johnson has since put together and it really works in a highly engaging, and fascinating way. Not to mention its totally unique!
