Felting needle: Excellent time-saving tool for creative knitting and other crafts

Last night I got to enjoy watching two knitters, My wife Molly and our friend Katie, discover the joy of needle felting.

These little gadgets turn wool into fabric in a snap. I saw Molly’s and Katie’s lives getting easier, happier, and more creative before my very eyes.

Here’s a tutorial on how to use felting needles. (Skip to about 4:30 in the first video if you just want to see it in action.)

From what I can tell, you need 3 things to get started with this nifty crafting…

I’m especially curious to see how this will affect the design of Katie’s Skull and Mohawk winter hats… Perhaps it will simplify the process enough that she can start making complete punk rock bodysuits.

She’s gonna get back to me on that one.

And, yes, this is a Craft Blog now. One more step in my perennial journey toward becoming a male momblogger.

Only for babies, and strictly on a case by case basis. :)PS: That video was super helpful! Remind me to show you some needle felted art I found on Ravs later.

Thanks for the post. I’ll be learning this with our church quilting group in a couple weeks! I think you are now “Mr. Mom!” Do you have a chainsaw? Just in case you need to feel manly!
