Dolly Parton’s original recording of “Jolene” slowed down by 25% is surprisingly awesome
“Jolene” has been covered numerous times, but despite how it sounds, this is not a cover by a pretty-sounding dude. It’s a 45 rpm record of Dolly singing that has been slowed to 33 rpm…
Here’s the original for reference.

Sounds a little like Cher….
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdUHxFKCQBs cool! Sisters of Mercy rendition of Jolene for Uploaded on Mar 20, 2011 From the session recorded on the 6th March 1983 for the David “Kid” Jensen show on BBC Radio 1. First broadcast 10th March 1983.In the session were:1. Jolene 2. Heartland 3. Burn 4. Valentine
Please do this to “I Will Always Love You”, or have you already? I’d rather eat glass than hear even a portion of Houston’s rendition! Dolly has a beautiful voice (unaltered), but this “Jolene” is AMAZING. Thank you for it!
does “covering” mean recording???
This IS Dolly Parton slowed down 25%. didn’t you read it?
Actually any slow ARS sped up 25% sounds like Stevie Nicks singing. LOL
He did – you did not
exactly – Cher with her teeth out.
Here is the song again, but pitch corrected. So it sounds like Dolly Parton and not some old man. http://youtu.be/KsBL1dGFD_E

Actually the link goes to the original normal speed version on youtube, not the BBC 4 article so it doesn’t reference the original article at all.
