“Walking shark” crawls along ocean floor like a slow, underwater lizard instead of swimming

Walking sharks (more commonly known as longtail carpet sharks or bamboo sharks) are small, bottom-dwelling, Indo-Pacific sharks that do not swim but instead sluggishly crawl along the floor of shallow areas of the ocean, feeding on invertebrates and small fish.

Here is a newly discovered species of bamboo shark showing off how it “walks”…
