Late Show host Stephen Colbert kickedoff two weeks of coverage of the Republican and Democratic conventions on Sunday by walking the floors of the Cleveland convention center dressed as his Hungry For Power Games character a Hunger Games parody about the election.
Here areColbert and his crew doing dry runs, taking pictures with convention-goers, and killing time before, well, you’ll see what comes next.
But Colbert is Colbert, and he couldn’t resist the lure of a microphone and decided to practice his bit up on the stage.
Because this was not an official Late Show stunt, the main routine is cut off in this video from a convention-goer, but you can get a pretty good idea of the theme.
As he’s escortedoff the stage by security, he can be heard saying, Look, I know Im not supposed to be up here, but lets be honest, neither is Donald Trump.
As he made his way back to the convention floor,he appeared to be filming a segment for Late Night, sohopefully we’ll get more of the behind-the-scenes action in an upcoming episode.
For now, delight in the splendor of The Hungry for Power Games.
Making the Internet great again!
