Governor Chris Christie Makes Fun of Himself on ‘SNL’
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie showed up on Saturday Night Live, riding the wave of his national popularity after his widely praised response to Hurricane Sandy.
In the short cameo on Weekend Update, Christie had time to make fun of his short temper, thank the Red Cross and New Jersey’s first responders as well as his wife, who put up “with a husband who has smelled like a wet fleece for the last three weeks.” A fleece that, according to Christie is “basically fused into my skin at this point.”
There was also time for the Governor to get angry at “the stupid” mayors who ignored his evacuation orders and reporters who put themselves in danger by reporting in the middle of the hurricane. “We don’t need you to tell us there’s a hurricane, we have windows!” quipped Christie.
