1. 1. Total Recall
   

   Director Len Wiseman was accompanied by Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and Bryan Cranston for a presentation on Sony’s Total Recall.

   This reboot of Philip K. Dick’s famous short story, “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” comes to theaters August 3. Farrell stars as a factory worker who falls prey to Rekall’s mind-trips, only to become a hunted man.

   And while Farrell and Cranston are sure to deliver action-packed performances, audiences seem more excited to see Beckinsale and Biel whoop some tail.

2. 2. Looper
   

   During its Hall H presentation, Sony followed Total Recall with Looper, another sci-fi, futuristic thriller that hinges on time travel.

   Writer/director Rian Johnson was joined by principals Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emily Blunt to discuss the film. Gordon-Levitt plays an assassin in the present; criminal organizations send him targets from the future, whereupon he makes them disappear. This flick is set to release September 28.

3. 3. Elysium
   

   Rounding out Sony’s upcoming sci-fi trifecta is Elysium, a follow-up to Neill Blomkamp’s 2009 debut, District 9. The presentation included seven minutes of never-before-seen footage, some of which was yet unfinished. Still, even the rough cut blew the audience away, though they’ll have to wait until early 2013 to catch the final project.

   When Blomkamp was asked how he came up with the idea for Elysium, which stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, he said:

   “The origin of it was really the idea of this space station that was separate from Earth, that the wealth of Earth had been taken and separated from Earth and that we’d left this impoverished planet behind us. You know, as a world, as an environment to begin a story inside of, that was the genesis.”

4. 4. Django Unchained
   

   Quentin Tarantino is at it again, rewriting gruesome moments in history to the utter delight of his devoted audience. Those in attendance at Hall H had the chance to catch a sneak peek of the film, followed by a discussion with Tarantino, Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Christoph Waltz and Walton Goggins.

   One of the most anticipated flicks of the year, Django Unchained stars Foxx as a slave-turned-bounty hunter looking for freedom from and vengeance on the plantation owner who has his wife. Waltz plays his partner in crime; Leonardo DiCaprio plays the slimy, evil plantation owner.

   Django Unchained is set for a Christmas release.

5. 5. End of Watch
   

   Open Road Films had the unfortunate luck of getting sandwiched between two major Hall H events: Django Unchained and the Warner Bros. presentation. But you take what you can get, right?

   End of Watch is the latest in a series of cop films from writer-director David Ayer, who notably helmed Training Day. This movie sets itself apart from the pack with a more optimistic tone — the principals play good cops — and a unique shooting style that couples a documentary with dashboard cameras, security footage and cameras attached to the actors’ bodies.

   Comic-Con attendees caught exclusive footage from the film, which showed off the novel filmmaking techniques, along with the brotherly rapport between stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena. Pena joined Ayer in person, while Gyllenhaal gave a pre-recorded introduction.

6. 6. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
   

   Here’s some of the exclusive footage that Open Road showed off during its presentation for Silent Hill: Revelation. The panel featured stars Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harington, plus director Michael J. Bassett and producer Samuel Hadida. The group discussed how this film would work as a stand-alone project, but the sequel would also offer easter eggs for fans of the 2006 film and video game.

7. 7. Pacific Rim
   

   Giant robots and massive monsters come to a head in this sci-fi megalith from Guillermo del Toro. Many Comic-Con attendees said Pacific Rim stole the show at Hall H. It’s a good thing, too — this is the film’s only marketing effort until Christmas.

8. 8. Man of Steel
   

   Warner Bros. rolled out the official trailer for Man of Steel, a Superman origin story from Zack Snyder. While the quality of this leaked trailer is subpar, fans can catch this trailer on the big screen before The Dark Knight Rises on Friday. There is a palpable Nolan influence in Man of Steel that audiences will detect even in the trailer; it’s fitting, as Nolan is billed as a producer on the Superman reboot.

9. 9. The Hobbit
   

   Check out this freshly released production video that gives an inside look at the production of Peter Jackson’s prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

   At Comic-Con, Jackson showed off a 12-minute reel from the flick, but the rest of us will have to settle for this awesome vlog.

10. 10. Iron Man 3
    

    In classic Tony Stark style, Robert Downey Jr. made a grand entrance into Hall H for the Iron Man 3 panel. The third installment is halfway to completion; Comic-Con attendees caught a glimpse of what’s been shot thus far.

    Footage confirmed that Sir Ben Kingsley is starring as Iron Man 3 villain, The Mandarin. The sneak peak also featured Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, reminding Stark, “I don’t work for you anymore.” Stark replies, “That’s right, you quit.” It’s a nod to the fact that Favreau, who directed the first two Iron Man flicks, bowed out for the third.

    Favreau and Downey Jr. were joined by Don Cheadle, director Shane Black and Kevin Feige, Marvel’s president of production for the panel.
