Even Scary Policemen With Riot Shields Are No Match For Their Love-Wielding Tactics
Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. That’s what many of us grew up hearing from our parents, from our religions, from our friends. Personally, it took me a long time to unlearn everything I learned about who I was supposed to love and who I wasn’t supposed to love. But even after I learned to accept myself — that I could love any gender and still be me — I’m still waiting for the day when I can kiss a woman in public and not have to look over my shoulder.
For other LGBT-identifying folks around the world, reality is even harder. In 77 countries, their existence is against the law. In 10 countries, they could die for it. And still, many of them are bravely speaking out — and they will not back down.
