Elevator Without Cables Can Even Go Sideways Thanks To Magnets (Video)
A German company has developed a concept for a wireless elevator system that uses magnets to bring the car not only up and down, but also sideways.
ThyssenKrupp’s MULTI elevator system is designed to hold elevators on two conveyors that run throughout the building.
Multiple elevators would be traveling throughout two shafts, making the maximum wait time for a ride just 30 seconds.
Pixable likens the system to a subway attached to a building, constantly in motion and available.
The design also allows architects to envision buildings shaped unlike the traditional skyscraper and ultimately caters to increasing amounts of passengers.
