If you’ve been living under a rock, you may not have heard about the whole thing with NBA owner Donald Sterling, who managed to get himself banned from the NBA after making some extremely racist comments. He dug the hole deeper, which I thought would be impossible, by doing an interview with Anderson Cooper where he planned to apologize but instead went on another racist tangent, this time attacking Magic Johnson. Because, well, actually, I have no idea why. The point is that it’s not really shocking that a racist guy is racist. At least you know where you stand with that sort of racism. It’s the shades of gray you have to worry about.
